How to play Snake
Guide the snake to the next egg without hitting the boundary or your own tail. You can play from above or switch to snake-eye view, with a small overhead map to help you track the rest of your body. Power-ups appear during the run; open the in-game help to see what each one does.
Tips for your next run
- Plan the turn after the egg before you collect it. A short route is only useful if you can get out again.
- Leave open space around your tail as the snake grows; tight loops become harder to escape.
- In snake-eye view, check the overhead map before turning into a space your body may already occupy.
Controls
- Top view
- Use the arrow keys or WASD to turn. On a touchscreen, swipe or use the direction buttons.
- Snake-eye view
- Use Left and Right, A and D, or swipe left and right to steer from the snake’s perspective.
- Pause
- Press P or Escape, or use the pause button.
Your next high score
Snake has an all-time leaderboard. When it is the featured game in an active weekly championship, the play link takes you into that competition. Only your best weekly score counts. Add your name and confirm your email before the deadline to enter for the top-three rewards.
You can return to permanent games between championships. A weekly championship runs Monday to Saturday, with Sunday off.
